Moments in the "Woods"
Students perform Stephen Sondheim's musical to sold-out audiences
As the lights dimmed, the crowd hushed and the narrator opened with those fateful words, "Once upon a time..." audiences were transported into a story of music, magic, and grit.
Reimagined fairytales were brought to life with Lehigh's production of "Into the Woods" last month. From the colorful, stark lighting to the concealed pit orchestra to the elaborate set and costumes, students created more than a musical.
A collaboration between the Department of Theatre and Department of Music, the musical was co-directed by Lyam B. Gabel and Kashi Johnson while music direction was provided by Sarah Frook Gallo, Liz Olson, and Kyle Wernke.
The back-to-back sold out shows during their two week run proved just how impactful such a collaboration was for students, faculty, staff, and the greater Lehigh Valley community.
